With the development of economic globalization, C-E translation of China’s corporate profiles (hereafter called CCP) is getting increasingly important. Since the1980s, more and more scholars focused on translation of corporate profiles, and they dealt with common problems in C-E translation of CCP, mostly in vocabulary, discourse, grammar, and etc.. What’s more, principles or strategies are not well combined with actual problems in C-E translation of CCP. On basis of the current research status, the author analyzes communication deficiency in C-E translation of CCP before proposing corresponding countermeasures. The author selects both the source texts and the original translated texts from websites of twenty-four China’s enterprises listed in the top500enterprises of Fortune magazine in2013, and the author finds some problems that can cause communication deficiency in C-E translation of CCP, such as communication deficiency caused by:1) different power distance;2) high and low contexts;3) omission of business introductions;4) inconsistency of translation versions of fixed translated names.Under the guidance of the Skopos Theory and the three principles ("faithfulness","exactness" and "consistency"), corresponding countermeasures are proposed as:1) to dilute the power distance;2) to complete context when necessary;3) to fully transmit business introductions;4) to keep consistency of fixed translated names. By analyzing communication deficiency in C-E translation of CCP, this thesis may help improving quality and acceptability of translated texts of CCP and improving the corporate image.
