<The tale of Genji> and<A Dream of Red Mansions>are the classical famousworks in the history of literature in both countries.They are not only play importantroles in respective literary tradition,but also strongly influenced the creation in laterages.Because of either of these two works is impoatant in its own national literature,along with many similarities in common, they are always, mentioned together forcomparing. There are numerous femal characters come up in both these two works.Article is trying to compare and analyse the artistic style femal of characters in thesetwo works from different angles. Especially focus on y in and lin. And to analysetheir similarities and differences in temperament, destiny and so on. In order tocomprehend these two works deeply.In the first part, that the relation between male protagonist and other femals areexpounded viewing as a whole, especially through the comparation between Genjiand Yūgao, Jia and Lin, in order to point out how these femals’ fate are influnced bysociety. Their lives are all difficult to be smooth going and mostly end sadly. Thesecond part goes into characters and the formation of characters about Yūgao and Lin,Yūgao is gentle, agreeable and also independent, Lin is oversensitive, apartheid andfrosty, which are both influnced by the environment. Yūgao and Lin both have theirown beautiful qualities, but they are not the ideal femals in their times. The third partcompares and analyses Yūgao and Lin’s tragedy destiny,which demonstratesextremely sadness.These two works both give a hint about their tragedy destinythrough the desctibtion of their experience, fate and others.Then the text expound howthe poetries which is conserdered to Yūgao and Lin affects on story’s expand andcharacter’s portray through analysing the poetries. In addition, how these poetriesdeliver appreciation of the beauty. In the final part, acquaintance these two works’similarities on the literary idea and aesthetic standards,in order to comprehend the two countries’ similarities and differences on literary aooreciation, for example,monoawave and the sense of arroundings.
