What the main performance of the western painting style and artistic language is light and shade. And this is western scientific truth and way of thinking in painting. There has a fundamentally different between traditional Chinese painting and western painting. Traditional Chinese painting is built on the basis of their own unique philosophy in China. And it model through "Image", pursuit the performance of "Tao". On the way of expression, traditional Chinese painting in pursuit of "wonderful between like and unlike". So, there is no clear "light" in traditional Chinese painting. Since the western painting was introduced into China in Ming dynasty, in traditional Chinese painting is a little faint "light" effect, but it is not very obvious. In the picture, clear consciousness into the "light" effect is the beginning of the20th century. In this time, a group of artists to study western learning western painting idea and expression way. when they came back, they had learned some forms of western and Chinese painting ink combination, created a batch of new traditional Chinese painting, and influenced the later Chinese painting process. Among this batch of painter, xu beihong, Lin Fengmian, Jiang Zhaohe is the most representative. In the field of landscape painting, the most successful artist is Li keran, who blend in "light and shadow". During the period of graduate, i study concept and method of these artists, especially for the rumor in the landscape paintings of copying from the painting of Li keran, Shi lu and He haixia. Based on this, I have some experience in landscape painting on "light and shadow". My graduation creation also make the continuation of the study. And it would reflected and innovation, in my works.
