The Study Of Cheng Gongliang’s Gugin Music Art

Gongliang Cheng is one the most outstanding musicians in Guqin music composition field. Hecompact the essence of Meian Music and Guangling Music to create his own unique artistic style.He make a significant contribution in respect of‘excavation’and‘development’. His researchabout Guqin art are also recognized by the experts in guqin study field, and occupies animportant position. In the field of history of Guqin music, he preferred the early Guqin music，and in the perspective of the ancients to makes every effort to restore the beauty of originalmusic. In terms of creation, he not only inherit the artistic style of Guangling Guqin Music, butalso for its development and innovation, to create different types of Guqin music. Some of hiscompositions can be referred to as the magnum opuses of contemporary Guqin music.This dissertation is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is about Cheng Gongliang’s Dapuresearch. I will discuss his Dupu theory and practice，and analyze the music and score of“Wenwang Cao”; The second chapter is the research of Cheng Gongliang’s Guqin composition.Transplant composition “Listen The Pine” and created composition “Contemplative Melody”will be the research object, then I will conclude the characteristics of Cheng Gongliang’scontemporary Guqin music style. Through the study of Dapu and composition, I think there arethree features of his music style.
