In the late Ming Dynasty,with the development of commodity economy,scholarsput more and more interests in traveling. Thus, a large number of travel writersappeared,such as Yuan Hongdao of Gong’an,Zhong Xing of Jingling,and the master ofessays Zhang Dai, are representative of this period. Wang Siren as the major object ofstudy of this paper,also wrote many excellent travel notes.In the life of Wang Siren,hiscareer did not go so well,so he put his heart into the great rivers and mountains of themotherland, his footprints are all over the north and south. His obsession with thelandscapeare as the same as other writers who love the landscape.During histraveling,Wang Siren wrote many popular travel works, his work reflected hisdistinctive language style and aesthetic taste, and his notes also showed his awarenessfor tourism and the unique cultural landscape values. Wang Siren of travel essays,hadbeen put a profound effect in history of literature in late Ming dynasty.This paper chooses his travels essays as the main subject,tries to do the researchthrough the following five areas:The introduction is mainly included his overview of previous researches,brieflyintroduced his literary influence in the late Ming Dynasty,the reason why he wasdisappeared in the Qing Dynasty,and when the New Culture Movement in the earlytwentieth century sprung out,so many people were interested in his works. This partof the study focused on the founding after the establishment of New China, includinghis biographie, literary ideas, essays, poetry and drama ideas.In the end of this part,introduced the research space of this paper.The first chapter introduces the background of the development of travel essaysin the late Ming Dynasty, the essays of Wang Siren will be placed in the developmentof ancient prose,so that we can analyze the overall source and stream. This chapterincludes three sections, the first part is the late Ming social profiles,were elaboratedfrom three aspects:politics, economy, ideology; the second part introduced the travel atmosphere in the late Ming Dynasty and the good travel mentality in the scholarscommunity.Under the influence of the environment,Wang Siren conform to the trendof the social atmosphere, would like to travel; the third part is the development ofancient travel essays, divides into the development before the Ming Dynasty and theMing Dynasty.This part focus on the development of the late Ming Travels Essay.The second chapter introduces the concept of tourism and the landscape culturalattitudes,on one hand is the understanding of the tourism, including the nature oftourism and classifications of the tourism type, discusses his adventure spirit,which isreflected during travel. Wang Siren pay attention to the harmony with the naturallandscape and the human landscape.
