Research On Yue Fei Story Spread

Yue fei, a person came from Tangyin County of Hebei provincein the Song dynasty, was a famous Gold anti-hero in the history ofChina. For hundreds of years, thelegendary stories about himare always to the liking of people all the time. Since the late Songdynasty, the series of Yue fei’s stories have animportant place in Chinese art history because of its unique byhundreds years ofinterpretation and spreading. And othercharacters that come from Yue fei’s stories also have an importantinfluence and effects on Chinese art history.This paper discusses the formation, development, evolutionand transmission of Yue fei’s stories from the aspects of textdissemination, stage diffusion and multimedia communication. Theaim of this thesis is to research Yue fei’s stories roundly, especiallythe new period of multimedia communication, and to manifest thespecial meaning of the widely spread of Yue fei’s stories on thisaccount, and to promote communication studies of historical figure,especially the influence and significance of varies of moderncommunication manners on the development of story.The earliest historical records of Yue fei’s story started back inthe Song dynasty. The story of Yue fei’s life was detailed in “Jin Tuo”which was wrote by Yue fei’s grandson Yue Ke and it also havedetailing record in official history of the late Yuan dynasty. Exceptthese official histories, many unofficial accounts and notes alsodescribed Yue fei’s story in this period of the Song dynasty and Yuandynasty. And there are some elements of folk myths and legends inthese stories. However, it greatly increases the folk style of Yuefei’s story. Then, a huge amount of tradition operas and novel textswere appeared. The tradition operas include the famous DongChuang Shi Fan、Jing Zhong Ji、Jing Zhong Qiand so on, the novelsinclude Shuo Yue Quan Zhuan. These works describe a certainperiod of Yue fei’s life, and some of them describe the heroic of Yuefei’s whole life, and some describe the stories about Yue fei’s latergenerations. These works greatly enrich the details of Yue fei storyand increase the artistic of Yue fei story. More importantly, theseworks promote the transmission of Yue fei story and as a result, Yuefei’s story has long been noticed by people who delight in talkingabout it. In the period of late Ming and early Qing dynasties, manylocal operas were related to Yue fei’s story and they have attractedcontinued interest. In the war, the performance of Yue fei’s storygreat inspires people’s enthusiasm in anti-Japanese. With thedevelopment of era, these old modes of transmission cannot besatisfied by people. And many plurality of transmission go intopeople’s eyes, such as film, teleplay, painting, storytelling,traditional opera and online game, etc. therefore, people don’trestricted to the single acceptable way. Yue fei’s story doesn’tdilute at the time of flood with its wide spreading, and Yue fei’sstory is continuously extend and become a well-known synonym of heroic figure in all ages.
