Semantic Analysis And Cultural Interpretation On "Sheng"--A Core Category In The Traditional Chinese Culture

"Sheng" is the ideal personality of social and national culture in China. It reflectes the basic characteristics of Chinese traditional culture and value standards. It is the spiritual pillar of the Chinese national culture and one of the core category of Chinese traditional culture. This paper analyzes the semantic system of "Sheng", it also analyzes the theories of "Sheng" in the representative works of Confucianism, Mohism, Taoism. In an attempt to clarify the semantic development and the cultural connotation of "Sheng", providing reference for teaching "Sheng" in the second language teaching and cultural communication.
