| In this article, First we start with dissecting the semantics of the Chinese character zuo, then, we comb through large quantities of ancient documents and modern literature to try to make a comprehensive analysis of those two distinctive social phenomenon i.e "worshiping the left" and "debasing the left".Finally,in a conclusion,we find that both of phenomenon exists in ancient china and they come with various explanations when they were paralytically applied in contrary scenarios.These two completely contrary phenomenon reflects the diversifying and flexible approaches ancient Chinese people took when they were exploring the world. |
