Since Brazil have become an independent country in 1822, it want diplomatic recognition of Britain desperately.But, during that time, Britain was implementing abolition of Atlantic slave trade and, unquestionably, it want Brazil ban the slave trade as well. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of Britain, Brazil sign the abolition treaty of slave trade in 1826.However, the signing boost the slave trade of Brazil.In 1845, British presented the "Aberdeen’s Law", and authorized the British navy take Brazil slave trade as a pirate ship which infringe the sovereignty of Brazil. After 1830s unrest of the state, Brazilian government gradually get rid of the negative effects of the liberal reform and, in the late 1840s, had achieved a strong central authority. In 1849, Brazilian conservative government finally realized the importance of abolition of slave trade. And in 1850, British navy invaded the water and land of Brazil in order to capture slaver, which ignited the armies’ conflicts of both sides. In this situation, Brazilian government issued the "Queiroz Law", and put those abolition measures into effect. Consequently, Brazilian slave trade had been abolished completely in 1850s.
