There is a saying: Hearing the songs on the Taihang Mountains, watching the d ance at the home town of Jin-Businessman. The Taigu Yangko was widely spread in the middle area of Shan Xi Province during the Ming and Qing Dynasties with the Ta igu commercial interests. It had developed into a local opera which contained lots of characters,performances, postures,singing skills from a shabby little opera which us ed to be sing in the field. And it riched people’s lives in the mid of Shan Xi Province.With the changing times, Taigu Yangko is not like past prosperity. As China’s intang ible cultural heritage, although it often performance around Shan Xi, because of the l ack of younger juniors heritage, it now faces challenges of survival and development of distress.In this paper, using the unique cultural perspective of ethnomusicology and writing methods of ethnography, tracking and recording the performances of Taigu Yangko Art Troupe, combining project based on the literature and examines the empirical and theoretical basis, collecting information by using field work, deep interview and field research method,and building a theory structure based on historical documents and related subject knowledge, and then researching on a basis of the fieldwork, desk analysis, theory thinking.I hope to based on the view point of ethnomusicology, combind theory with practice, make a interpretation for the moment the cultural connotation of Taigu yangko, and through the field interviews, to explain the present situation and the challenges faced by the Taigu Yangko Art Troupe, and make a recommendation for its future development, hoping to keep the vitality of the traditional music culture forever.
