On The Evolution Of Native Consciousness In Jia Pingwa’s Novels

Jia pingwa, a famous writer who has a relatively large impact on Chinese contemporary literary. The local consciousness in whose novels imply thinkings on society in The local awareness in his novels constantly evolves with the development of social and culture and the process of evolution also reflects the abundance of his novels connotation. Therefore, the study of the evolution of local awareness can help us thoroughly understand the value of his novels.This paper represents the causes and implications of the evolutions of local awareness in Jia pingwa’s novels by analyzing the background and his creative works of fiction in different periods. Three parts is divided into to illustrate this evolution.The first part focuses on the germination of the local consciousness in Jia pingwa’s novels. This part explores the reasons and process of the germination by studying Jia Pingwa’s background of rural origin, farmers and rural life and his “Shangzhou series”novels. The local awareness connotation in his novels of this period is to build a purely local performance, and praise the local culture rustic.The second part expounds the evolution of his local awareness under the influence of urbanization in the 1990 s, which is a transitional type of evolution. This part is the analysis of how the urban life, urban culture to promote local awareness of the evolution in his novels. The fundamental causes of the evolution of local consciousness in his novels are the collisions of urban culture and rural culture. The external form of evolution is the departure of native people. The purely local awareness is in desalination from this time on, reflecting the impact of the city’s business culture in rural areas.
