Investigation On The Wedding Music Tuva People In Xinjiang Aletai Area

The Tuva culture in Xinjiang Altay region is an intangible cultural heritage with profound historical background. The wedding music of Tuva people, which is an important part of the Tuva culture, embodies the folk culture of Tuwa people and reflects the colorful music characteristics of Tuva people.The Tuva population living in Xinjiang Altay region are very few. They belong to transborder weak ethnic group which compose an important part of Chinese Mongolia. The purpose of this paper for the topic on the study of wedding ceremony of Tuva in Xinjiang Altay region and its music investigation are:1. to describe the wedding music types of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay region2. to record the wedding music forms of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay region3. to run through the wedding music changes of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay region4. to analysis the wedding music meaning of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay region5. to discuss the wedding music protection of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay regionSo, this paper will use Anthropology of music and ethnomusicology as its angle and method, to study on the diachronic and synchronic of wedding music of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay region by its historical cultural background, musical characteristics, the cultural attribute and connotation development. All of these studies will combine Anthropology of music, ethnomusicology, cultural anthropology,ethnology and historical research so to form a relatively comprehensive understanding.Basing on the study of the wedding music of Tuva people in Xinjiang Altay region, we find that the historical culture, especially the wedding music of Tuva people, has suffered huge impact and change under modern social development. The reasons are profound which include objective causes of time and initiative choices or follow-up of real life of ethnic inside. Although there are great changes or variations,an interesting phenomenon still exist that a very clear ‘traditional’ flavor has maintained in the music function, especially the ethnic emotion and sound memory of the wedding ceremony music. Sometimes it devotes particular care. This may be anew perspective of our study on traditional ethnic cultural change under modern social and cultural development.
