Spoken words which have characters as popularity, liveliness and kindness are used in our daily life. It is an important kind of words in the vocabulary system. As an authority modern Chinese dictionary, Modern Chinese Dictionary included spoken words, in the beginning it marked <口>, later cancelled, then marked again, this trend is worth our attention and research. But there is no system research of the words marked <口> from the sixth edition, and there is also no contrastive study on the words marked <口> from Modern Chinese Dictionary the sixth edition and the second edition, this thesis is based on these questions and is divided into four chapters, detailed arrangement is as follows:The first chapter introduces research background and meaning, research status, research object, research purposes and research methods. The research meaning is on the earth of there is no contrastive study on the words marked <口> from these two editions. The research status has three parts, such as spoken language, spoken words and spoken words’ annotation. The research object is the words marked <口> from these two editions. The research purposes is three, the first one is inspecting the 997 words marked <口> from the sixth edition in detail; the second one is making clear the changes of the words marked <口> nearly 30 years; the third one is summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the annotation problem of the words marked <口> in Modern Chinese Dictionary, then put forward the difficulties and principles of the spoken words’ annotation. The research methods is measurement statistics, qualitative analysis, taxonomy and antitheses.The second chapter inspects the 997 words marked <口> from the sixth edition in detail, including phonetics, semanteme and grammar. In the aspect of phonetics, most of words marked <口> are double syllable; Neutral syllable and words those plus an-er at the end are the peculiarities. In the aspect of semanteme, most of words marked <口> are pure spoken words; The number of univocal words is three times more than polysemant. In the aspect of grammar, most of words marked <口> are noun, synthetic words. Most of synthetic words are partial positive type and verb object type.The third chapter is the theme part of this thesis, in this chapter we do a contrastive study on the words marked <口> from the sixth edition and the second edition to make clear the changes of these words. We make this contrastive study from three angles: the first one is the increase, the second one is the decrease and the third one is other changes.The fourth chapter discusses the annotation problem of the words marked <口> in Modern Chinese Dictionary. At first, we look back the history of the annotation problem of the words marked <口>; Second, we summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the annotation problem of the words marked <口> in Modern Chinese Dictionary; At last, we put forward the difficulties and principles of the spoken words’ annotation.The last part is the summary of this thesis which is detailed.
