As a kind of film theme, or rather, film type, youth film plays a vital role in the history of film making, but it develops quite slowly and without its own style in Mainland China. Academic study about it began so late that the outcome still needs enriching and accomplishing. Since2013, there has been a great heat about youth film, and, after it makes one miracle after another in box office, brings up a heat discussion about it among the society. But, without doubt, miracles and discussions do not just come about incidentally, or by some god’s hand. Contemporary consumer society, expressing and shaping for the middle class lifestyles in films that arouse resonance in the consumer group, both, have something to do with them. The shaping of the middle class lifestyles in contemporary youth films give ideas and examples to the young who are still fighting for their own lifestyles, which lights up a new direction for the development of Contemporary youth films. Hence, studying the youth films dating from 2013,I want to take this opportunity to analyse the image shaping of the middle class in the film script, and summarize the middle class lifestyles like idealized spending, nostalgic affection or philosophical commonality, which convey in the youth films.Developing in the 21 st century,China is on its highway to urbanization, and, with millions of youngsters flooding into its cities, all the new bloods also need urbanizing. With the out-burst of the youth films, the middle class lifestyles conveying from the films have somehow guided the youngsters’ life and made a deep influence in their ideas and styles about life. Judging from this aspect, this thesis means a lot to the study of films as well as the culture of the society.
