The Research Of Musical And Performing, Techniques Of Toccata. Nao Chun Geng

In the early 20 th century, a lot of western piano compositions have been introduced to China. From that time, the Chinese composers began to use western composition techniques to write music, which express Chinese national characteristics.As one of the oldest forms of music, Toccata is very popular in Chinese composers,since its compact structure, rapid pace and it is full of improvisation and bravura.Toccata has been widely used in well-designed Chinese piano compositions. Based on the method, it has combined with Chinese national characteristics. As a result, a plenty of outstanding piano compositions have been published.In the paper, a solo piano composition, Toccata·Nao chun geng, which is written by Professor Zhou Zhenxi in Wuhan conservatory of Music has been discussed.Starting with the origin and the characteristic of Toccata, the paper analyzes the written techniques of Toccata·Nao chun geng and shows how toccata has been used in Chinese piano compositions. Based on these theories and the experience of the author,this paper also explores performing techniques of the composition.
