In recent years, the box office’s miracle of Hollywood superhero movies and the huge marketing from the surrounding areas are impressing people all over the world, even though the audiences are aware of every story, and the characters and plot designs look familiar from different superhero movies. So what kind of characteristics in this kind of movie, can let us be captured again and again willingly? Why such films are produced in America and eventually welcomed by the world? This is the starting and arguing point of this thesis.Superhero movies have a very clear pattern type and production procedure. Like all the American mainstream movies, superhero movies tend to stick with an immutable "super-stable structure" by the plot. And on production, they are extremely commercialized. So the business value from the characters can be extended to the maximum. In addition, large investment of the special effects and visual spectacle, Hollywood’s popular stars along with gorgeous costumes are essential. In terms of cultural orientation, superhero movies with distinctive American culture label are not only popular in Amereica, but also in the global film market. In China, there’s a restriction of the number for box office split. However, the superhero movies can always have green light and hit the box office successful. This work focuses on the study of ‘Super Hero Movie’, including its type element, filmmaking mode, market discipline, culture strategy, and its potential influence on native movie industry. Under the globalization of movies, ‘Super Movie Boom’ is a most notably phenomenon of present Chinese movie, and it is also the core topic of comment and discussion. We wonder why the expectation of bidirectional export between Chinese movies and foreign movies is gradually becoming unilateral export of foreign movies with their culture. Investigating its rules may enable us to find out the reasons why we have not yet successfully create some comparable products with the foreign films. By studying the type element and the commercial performance of ‘Super Hero Movie’, we hope to shed new light on Chinese movies and even Chinese native fictitious idols. We also discuss the two attitudes of Chinese movies towards the similar industry models in the future: rejection, competition or adaption, attraction and adoption.
