The Expressiveness Of Material Textures In Modern Block Printing Art

Nowadays, we tend to define comprehensive block printing as a type of new art during the development of modern block printing, and it only has a short time of development in China. It is a new understanding and a new application of traditional block printing art in a comprehensive way, with a higher level of flexibility, and more extensive use of materials and media, which cannot be matched by traditional block printing. The paper intends to study the expressiveness of material textures, to introduce the development of comprehensive block printing art, the influence of material textures on the creation of artworks. By probing into the significance and value of material textures in the art of comprehensive block printing, the author endeavors to identify the direction of the art of comprehensive block printing.There are three parts in this paper. The first introduces the concept of comprehensive block printing, and its history and development in and outside China. The second part analyzes the importance of material textures in comprehensive block printing and its influence by classifying and studying different material textures and their application in creating artworks. The last part discusses the core value of material textures in creating artworks based on my personal experiences of exploring and experimenting different materials. My conclusion in this paper is that the development of comprehensive block printing leads us to understand "material textures" in a new way, which requires us to keep the properties of different materials, to increase the variability of materials used, to increase the flexibility of the use of printing, and to combine the beauty and emotional characteristics of this art in order to realize the core meaning of the application of different material textures in comprehensive block printing.
