The Taiwan new feminist literature in 1980s has the important position in the history of Taiwan literature. The mainly reason is the new feminism which it advocated and promoted has the positive significance on woman’s liberation, and it depicts "the own sky" for woman. Based on the novels which appear in Taiwan’s new feminist literature in 1980s and the major writers’representatives, the paper analyzes the age, character, plot, and the author’s ideas, and summarizes the common characteristics of connotation, characters.The paper has three chapters. The first chapter reviews the development and change of the Taiwan female literature from the period before recovery to the 1980s.There was a few women writers in Taiwan before 1949. The 1950s is the laying period of Taiwan feminine literature, mainly is the creation of female writers came from the mainland. In 1960s, the academism female writers engaged in modernist literature creation under the background of western literature dissemination. In 1970s, the creation of female writers went into reality under the trend of returning native-soil literature. In 1980s, the new feminist literature is springs up in the pluralistic social context.The chapter two discusses the rich connotation of the new feminism literature in 1980s. The new feminism writers deconstruct male ideology through negative paternity, manus maritalis and marginalized patriarchy. The enlightenment of new female consciousness is the most distinctive theme of literary, and the pursuit of independent personality and sex’s harmony is the inevitable choices of women get the true liberation. But there are many difficulties when woman on the road of pursuit themselves, and writers made much efforts to explore the female’s outlet.The third chapter analyzes the colorful characters’images. The traditional female is victim of patriarchal society, however, the "window women" independent in financial but independent in personality. The cowardly male, selfish male and the new male who pursue sexes harmony are the new male of novel texts.The Taiwan new feminist literature in 1980s uses the new feminism as their ideology, takes the realistic situation of female as the starting point.
