The Evolution Of Female Consciousness In Literary Works From The 1980s To The 1990s

In the 20 th century,China has gone through a century of ups and downs.At the end of 1970 s,China entered a "new era" marked by reform and opening up,with great changes in social structure and cultural thoughts.Based on the evolution of female consciousness in literary works during the period from 1980 s to 1990 s,this paper finds from the analysis of literary works that the awakening of female natural consciousness has aroused the development of female body consciousness and reaffirmation of love since 1980 s.Influenced by social liberation and the trend of "humanitarianism",women re-emphasized the importance of women's personal dignity from the standpoint of "humanity" awakening,and realized the awakening of women's consciousness in the cultural level.Women actively participate in public life,confirm their own value in the socialist construction,improve the status of women,and realize the awakening of female consciousness in the social level.In the 1980 s,the development of female consciousness realized the unification of natural,social and cultural levels.Compared with the women's writing dominated by collective consciousness in the 1980 s,the development of women's literature in the 1990 s was influenced by the market economy and diversified cultural trends,and the expression of women's consciousness tended to be diversified.Women have widely participated in social life and begun to pay attention to the expression of personal feelings,and "body writing" has emerged as a typical representative of personalized writing.While publicizing the awakening of women's individuality,there is also a tendency of women's consciousness returning to the natural level.Based on Marxism theory,this paper engages comprehensive analysis of female consciousness in the period of 1980 s to 1990 s and tries to find out the reason why female consciousness returned to the natural level after comprehensive awakening in the 1980 s,thus intends to illuminate a healthy development path for the female consciousness.The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter summarizes the development and changes of female consciousness in literature works from May 4th to cultural revolution.The May 4th enlightenment movement laid the foundation for the awakening of female consciousness.At this stage,women got rid of the physical and mental shackles offeudal ideology and gradually improved their social status,which objectively promoted the improvement of female subject status and self-identification and opened a path for the development of female consciousness in the 1980 s and 1990 s.The second chapter summarizes the development characteristics of female consciousness in the 1980 s.The 1980 s was a glorious period of female consciousness' development,and the loose cultural atmosphere promoted the comprehensive development of female consciousness.Influenced by mainstream culture,social development and cultural thoughts,female consciousness has realized the unification of nature,society,politics and culture to some extent,which not only provides direction for the development of female consciousness in the 1990 s,but also provides a reference for the healthy development of women.The third chapter indicates that in the 1990 s,the diversified social culture and the changeable social environment brought by the market economy affected the development of female consciousness in literary works.This chapter summarizes the performance characteristics of female consciousness at this stage,and finds that while female consciousness in the 1990 s surpassed the 1980 s in terms of personalized expression and diversified expression,it also caused certain limitations and began to surrender to the market and mass culture.By comparing the differences of female consciousness of the 80 s and 90 s and its forming reason,the fourth chapter engages analysis of the 90 s female consciousness' transcendence compared with that of 80 s and its own limitations,this part expounds the weakness of control due to the mainstream culture and consumption culture under the market economic system,the "humanistic spirit" gradually quitted from social and cultural center,and the rise of mass culture led to the diversified development of female literature in the 90 s and to return to natural body level.The fifth chapter combines understanding towards different stages of the female consciousness awakening,with the feminist and Marxist analysis of women's issues to transcendent the provincial limits and find an ultimate path of comprehensive development for women,namely realizes the true freedom of women on the basis of the comprehensive development of mankind.
