Study On The Development Of The Functional Ceramic Art Since Middle-and-late 1980s

Since from middle-and-late 1980s to 1990s the functional ceramic arts in our country had a period of experimentation and exploration: to get rid of the bondage of the values and performance of traditional ceramics;to combine the functional value with the artist’s personality and aesthetic value; to give full play of the free and indulgent nature of mud, to expand the aesthetic category of traditional ceramic arts and reflect experimental, expressive and unique characteristics; to introduce the deformation, defects, lack of coordination into the functional ceramic arts creation.In the nineties of last century Chinese functional ceramic arts had a new understanding and affirmation of tradional culture, and exploring among the toughts of traditional culture, resources and civial society to achieve the integration of modern concepts and traditional culture on the functional ceramic arts, and discuss the meaning of the language system of one’s own for the artistic expressive force and academic value of functional ceramic arts in China.
