The Research Of The Decorative Art Of Traditional Brick Carving Of Northern Chinese Region

Traditional Chinese architectural decoration art is an important art form in the history of human construction, and has a long history and brilliant artistic achievement. Brick carving is a special kind of carving craft which use the bricks as the basic material and evolved from the Eastern Zhou Vatan, hollow bricks and the Han Dynasty portrait brick,the traditional brick carving is an important kind of decorative elements on traditional Chinese ancient buildings, after thousand years without failure, with high artistic value.The traditional brick carving decorative arts as a carrier of inheriting and continuing of the culture of Chinese nationalities, not only has the independent ornamental value, but also carries a profound national cultural connotations and contains valuable cultural essence of ethnic area, it is a very precious cultural heritage of traditional architectural decoration art and a treasures of traditional Chinese culture.This paper studied on the decorative art of traditional brick carving of northern Chinese region, the author of the essay made a field trip to research on the brick-carvings art styles in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Linxia and other areas, and made the first-hand information of the adequately collected brick carving as the theoretical basis, combined with the existing local brick carving art as an example, focusing on the development of all the regional brick carving art, features of past dynasties, carving arts, artistic presentation technique, decorative patterns, artistic styles and sects, composition characteristics, theme and content and auspicious patterns makes a systematic analysis, reveal the brick carving art conveys cultural connotation and artistic value. From an aesthetic point combine the history, folklore, sociology, architecture, technology, aesthetics and semiotics and other related disciplines to explore the northern region brick carving decorative arts features,strive to find the implicit architectural decoration culture and national culture from the northern local culture. In this paper, through the study on the decorative art of traditional brick carving of northern Chinese region and strive to explore the essence of traditional Chinese decoration culture and folk arts, in order to provide the development and innovation of modern traditional Chinese architectural decoration art with reference material.
