Tien-wen Chu is a famous Taiwan female writer who was born in Taipei and grew up in military dependants’ village, learn form Lancheng Hu, and used to be the chief editor of Double Three Bul letin, later became a scriptwriter and won the mega millions jackpot of China Times with Notes of a Desolate Man in 1994. Chu’s cre ation has never stopped since 1975, including fiction, prose, essay, film script and so on. In her works we can find not only her imag ination of cultural nation,but also her selective recognition and inh eritance of traditional Chinese culture. This article focuses on the id entity of Chu’s literature- the inheritance of pornographic novels in late Qing Dynasty, and the cultural concern-- that is, the inherita nce of “scholar-bureaucrat” in contemporary Taiwan.This article is divided into four chapters, and the structure of i t is as follows: the introduction states the arising of research, curre nt situation and the research idea. The first chapter presents Chu’s s ources of her family background, her relationship with Eileen Chan g and Lancheng Hu,also her process of creation. In the second ch apter, Chu’s literature is combined with pornographic theme to disc uss how can she assimilate pornographic and Shanghai style and th en write legend in modern Taiwan. The third chapter expounds that How Chu accept the education of Lancheng Hu about “scholar-bur eaucrat”;Chu’s “scholar-bureaucrat” has fantastically changed after ex perienced from the pure and enthusiasm in Double Three period, t he hidden coldly during the End of The Century, to the appearance of decadent literature; thinking about the current situation of Taiwa n society is the way in which she shows her tension and attention as a “Taiwan Contemporary intellectuals”.The fourth chapter discu sses the relationship between Chu’s experience in Taiwan and the two literary genres which she has inherited so that we can find ou t the special significance of Chu to the history of literature; epilogu e part concludes the general argument in this article.This article focus on Tien-wen Chu’s literature and her literary genres, discuss the two literary genres, “the courtesan novel”and“Tr aditional of scholar-bureaucrat”, which are interwoven in Chu’works:“Traditional of scholar-bureaucrat” would be flowed through unexpe ctedly when she describe the ukiyoe social scene with the courtesannovel, let the words to live by about scholar-bureaucrat of modern Taiwan go public with an attitude of serious and warning.
