The Research Of Ming Yansui Great Wall Military Defense Style And Defense System

The Great Wall of Ming Dynasty in Shanxi Province, is known as Yansui Great Wall. The defense system consists of barracks, houses, defensive walls, enemy broadcasting station and MaMian which are built on or beside the walls, beacon tower which locate in or out of the walls, "the Great Wall Protection Project(2005-2014)"the Great Wall resourses survey provide data support and the GIS spatial analysis technology provide a new technical support for research.The starting point of my research is the influence of the information communicate system of Yansui Great Wall in the different geographical environment. I will spread it in 3 chapters. Firstly, it is the summary of geographical conditions and history of the area around Yansui Great Wall. Secondly, discussing the regular of building and defensive way of buildings on the Great Wall and barracks on the back of the Great Wall under different geomorphic environment by using slope analysis, aspect analysis, profile analysis, view-shed analysis etc. in GIS and the record of the arrangement of beacon tower and military about Yansui Great Wall. Thirdly, discussing the military defense system of Yansui Great Wall.
