The Influence Of Negative Emotions On Decision- Making Under The Unfair Situation

An old saying:“People is not worried about scarcity and poverty,but inequality and anxiety.”The pursuit of fairness and justice, is an eternal topic in human history, but also the value orientation of social progress.However, the matter of social injustice will always appear.When people respond to an unfair situation, emotion plays an important role and even the effect is more direct than the event.Based on previous researches about emotions and decisions-making,this article start to discuss immediate emotional impact on decision-making under unfair situations by the same potency of different emotions(anger and disgust).This paper carried out two experiments, in order to verify whether negative emotions would have an impact on decision-making under the unfair situation,and whether the impact is emotional specificity. Study1 used the process of ultimatum game to research whether angry can more affect the decision to refusing unfair scheme in unfair distributed situation;Study 2 used the scenario approach to discuss whether angry is more to influence the judgment of fairness in unfair interactive and procedural situation.The results showed that:(1)In unfair distributed situation,the refusal rate of unfair distribution in anger group was the most significant and the judgmentabout fairness was more strict;(2)In unfair interactive situation,the judgment about fairness was more strict in anger group;(3)In unfair procedural situation,the judgment about fairness was more strict in anger group;(4)Negative emotions had a special impact on decision-making under unfair situation,which would support the view of the specific theory of emotion to some extent.
