The C-E Translation Of Guide’s Commentary In Tourist Attractions From The Perspective Of Translation Variation Theory

In recent years,with the development of China’s economy and tourism,more and more foreign visitors travel to China.Guide’s commentaries play an important part in spreading Chinese culture. Based on translation variation theory and text features,the thesis introduces the methods of translation variation, aiming to meet its text features and spread Chinese culture.The thesis consists of three Chapters.The first Chapter analyzes theoretical basis of C-E guide’s commentary translation, elaborating translation variation theory and its guiding significance.This thesis firstly illustrates the existing problems of guide’s commentary translation.The lack of cultural background knowledge may make foreign tourists hard to understand the real meaning.The second Chapter analyzes text features.In Chapter three, the author introduces the strategies of C-E guide’s commentary translation, extraction and combination, adaption and amplification.By analyzing translation materials and adopting scientific translation theory, this thesis points out several problems that worth considering and put forward translation strategies accordingly. All of those are designed to offer some suggestions to C-E translation of tourism translation and spread Chinese culture to foreign tourists.
