The digital processing of spatial representation effect is more important since digital processing has always been a hot pot in cognitive psychology, the study on SNARC effect is becoming more and more, which means the reaction of the left hand is much faster to the little number in the horizontal direction, while the right-handed to the large number; however, the response to the larger number is faster at the top,while, it’s faster to the small numbers at the bottom in the vertical direction,Many studies has been done in the horizontal direction of SNARC effect. SNARC effect was found in a variety of stimuli and stimulus presentation, which proved that SNARC effect has a strong stability in the horizontal direction. Few study was done in the vertical direction of the SNARC effect, SNARC effect is less stable in the vertical direction according to the existing research, the SNARC effect does not occur in the vertical direction while in the event which the stimulation material has a shallower processing.The number of strokes of Chinese characters was taken as stimulus In this study, which was to explore whether the SNARC effect would take place in the horizontal and vertical direction in this stimulus. In this article,the main part of the research is inquiry of SNARC effect on the number of strokes of Chinese characters in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction.In this research, the strokes of Chinese characters was divided into two kinds of experimental material:the larger and the smaller strokes, while the researcher was tested by the complex of the Chinese character. In the Chinese characters,it’s aim to get the effect of the familiar to the strokes to the SNRAC.The results showed that:The SNARC effect appear in the horizon direction. The reaction to the familiar word was longer than to the unfamiliar one. However,the familiar to the Chinese character and the requirement of the reaction has no effect on the result and stability of the SNARC in the horizon direction.The SNARC don’t take place in the vertical direction. However,it does take place in the 2ed and the 3ird research. The reaction to the simple Chinese character is much longer, which is different from the previous research,it is may cause by the reason that the vertical position has a effect on the reaction. The reaction is longer to the familiar, which is the same with the 1 st research and proved the familiar Chinese character has a deeper characterization while processing the character stroke.
