Research On The Visual Symbols In The Concept Photography

The conceptual photography, as a kind of media which spreads thoughts and ideas of artist, constructs the picture around the typicality, readability, symbolic and vivid picture of visual symbol. The conceptual photography expresses the thoughts which are derived from individual consideration of some problems of the artists, blended the thoughts, ideas and understandings in photography means, then performing the thoughts by using some certain forms.In the era of images, the spread of visual culture has become a very important channel for the information transmission. Visual symbols in conceptual photography art as a kind of nonverbal symbol transmission which conveys information that is of much more than words language symbols and more conformable to the public. Most of the research in related areas is based on the theory of semiotics. This thesis deconstructs and reconstructs on the concept of visual symbols in the art of photography through research on characteristics and properties of non language symbol of visual symbols.This thesis builds the visual symbols by using the principle of communication and applied to the conceptual photography creation practice. Not only can make the creator’s ideas more clearly but also can make the viewers deeply feel the ideas and understandings which the works to convey through the understanding of the images of symbols. So as to further improve the readability of the work and propagation force.
