There were many calligraphy monks in the Middle and Night Tang Dynasty that we knew as people like Huai Su, Ya Xi, Gao Xian, Bian Guang, Guan Xiu, Qi Ji and so on. Most of them were good at calligraphy and set off a wave of writing cursive trend in the Middle and Night Tang Dynasty. At the same time, most of the calligraphy monks were also actively involved in the literary creation in the popular poetry creation’s Tang Dynasty, and left a lot of literature works. Their literary works had a certain artistic value in the content, style and creative skill, and presented the unique characteristics of calligraphy monks’ group. In view of the Middle and Night Tang Dynasty’ calligraphy monks had made important contributions in the field of calligraphy and literature, therefore, it is necessary for us to explore the inherent rule of features between them.Then we can explore the cultural characteristics of the times to made breakthrough progress in different fields.The full text is divided into four parts: the introduction part studies the problem of history and present situation, analysis of the significance of the research, interprets the research methods, defines the scope of research and related concepts about calligraphy monks literature.Chapter 1 through to comb the calligraphy monks’ group in the Night Tang Dynasty to determine their members and discusse on the basic situation and social activities of their members. The author focuses on the style and origin of the calligraphy monks’ works. At the same time, the author deeply researchs the reason for emergence of the calligraphy monks by three aspects, which includes the development of Zen evolution, the close association of monks and laymen and the transformation of foreign science understanding of Buddhism.Chapter 2 mainly investigates and describes the poetry creation style of the calligraphy monks’ group in the Middle and Night Tang Dynasty. Their works not only includes numerous poems but also includes theoretical creations such as Coquettish Zhi Ge. On the subject of poetry, this chapter elaborates from five aspects by the irony of age stabbed the world works, meticulous poems on object, quiet mountain poems, the true feelings of the reciprocating poems, calligraphy and painting poems. Its artistic characteristics mainly discusses from three aspects of odd, bitter, clear. Its poetic theory discusses from the Zen and Moon poetry of Guan Xiu, the white lotus poetry and Coquettish Zhi Ge of Qi Ji.Chapter 3 focus on the analysis of common characteristics of the calligraphy monks’ calligraphy and literature creation in the Middle and Night Tang Dynasty. The author deeply explores the inner link between them in the special historical period which form the literary thought of Zen Buddhism and the aesthetic tendency of advocating change, then the author will from the poetry and mutual promotion two aspects to explore the interaction between them.
