Genealogy as a family migration, breeding, the rise and fall of history literature carrier and main characters, can be said to be a family’s encyclopedia. Genealogy although it only records are the name of the historical development, but its emergence and development from the characteristics of Chinese traditional culture, so are talking account and preserve the special mission of Chinese culture. Talking jingchu book collection of Ezhou genealogy as the research object, by investigating its content, style, ect, analyze the genealogy in the aspects ofeconomic,political, social and cultural value, academic research toprovide certain reference for the local society.This article will study of Ezhou genealogy through four aspects; Firstly, in the introduction part, introduced briefly the development history of Chinese genealogy, Ezhou genealogy research situation and research significance. Secondly, introduced concrete generalization of Ezhou genealogy, from the content, style and safekeeping of three aspects, theunderstanding of Ezhou genealogy has a macro and overall grasp. Again, through to the specific content of Ezhou genealogy, analyze its in custom and immigration history, economic history, patriarchal clansystem, in terms of value. For example, family tree has a lot of land, housing transaction contract, from which we can find the localland, property and other economic conditions. Finally, family tree as a carrier of cultural record, has certain influence to the development of modern society, but the tree in the process of formation, unavoidable’s lines the etc is insunfficient, so when we use genealogical records should be in line with the attitude of science is rigorous, seeking truth from facts, thus forming the objective comprehensive research.
