The research in this paper is the application of Zen Aesthetics in shaping architectural conception. These days, comes a challenge of domestic architecture that some issues, though cloaked in great achievements been made, such as the similar architectural performance, the destructive reconstruction of cultural and historical scene, have been occurred widely, due to the influence of globalization, which is well recognized by people all over the country. In order to inherit and develop Chinese classical architecture, it is necessary to explore its aesthetics phenomena and deeper levels of cultural factors behind it. And among all of these phenomena and cultural factors, artistic conception and zen are most impressive. Zen,perfected by Japan and now spreading around the world, have played a role on a global scale, become a hot topic in China, and actively applied as design elements to actual construction, judged from the current social atmosphere. However, from my standpoint, further analysis and understand on Zen is desperately needed in all these efforts, for best results. It is the basis of the research that what the relationship between Zen and artistic conception is. In this paper, according to recent analysis of causes of the theories of artistic conception, have been made comparisons and contrasts of aesthetics phenomena of Confucianism, Taoism and Zen.Furthermore, according to analysis of cultural and artistic influences of Zen on people of that time, have been made certifications and establishments that there is some association between Zen and causes of the theories of artistic conception. Moreover, have been made not only the summaries of the Zen-related characteristics in artistic recreation and architectural concept, but also connections between the notion of existence, voidness and the artistic conception of emptiness.Chinese classical gardens, as well as buddhist temples, are typical carriers of Zen aesthetics that shape architectural artistic conception. However, there is a difference between them. Unlike Chinese classical gardens, can Zen only be found in the layout in buddhist temples. In other words, Chinese classical gardens are far more flexible and variable in artistic performance. In this paper, on issues that how Zen aesthetics can shape architectural artistic conception and what the aesthetic meanings behind are, some essential characteristics of Zenexplosion of ego cling, the outside world cling and void cling, which corresponds to emptiness and inspiration of architectural artistic conception- are listed. In this part, is given analysis on several selected aspects of Chinese architecture, such as landscape naming, water, stone, building components and pavilions. In addition, is done expatiation on different roles of those aspects on whole space, he details in the organization and the understanding of Zen.It is a huge problem that how to apply Zen aesthetics characteristics to modern architecture, which can make the building artistic phenomenon continue and develop in this new era. In this paper, in order to solve the problem, some favorable macro aspects are analyzed. In general, with the increase of living level, people are actively looking for beauty, improving natural environment, expanding physical space, enlarging living space, and promoting the quality of spiritual cultural space as well. Furthermore, when it comes to the difficulty of implementation, Zen aesthetics embodies the artistic conception easier in building interior space, and so it does in architectural opusculeons. However, it is hard to see the highly embodiment of Zen aesthetics in individual buildings in large scale. Therefore, not only learning advanced foreign experiences, but also analyzing the trait of evolution of Zen domestically is needed. It is believed that, with the perfect combination of both familiarity of Zen and proficiency in modern technology and methods, communications between the past, present and future, better achievements for architecture aesthetics is possible.
