Language teaching cannot separate from culture. With the development of economy, science and technology of society, English, as an universal practical language, has raised a craze of English learning in Chinese for decades. Because English is a required course, and it has close association with college entrance examination and job, the popularity of English learning never drop. As a result of exam-oriented education system. Chinese foreign language teaching has been focused on grammar teaching for a long time, while culture teaching especially native culture has been neglected to a great extent in fact. The ignorance causes serious negative influence on the cultivation of students’cross-cultural communication competence. Though students have learned English for years, they do not know how to communicate in English, let alone for cross-cultural communication. However, foreign language teaching is not only language teaching, but should also be culture teaching. Language and culture are inseparable. Language teaching is the cornerstone of intercultural communication, while culture teaching is a bridge to effective communication. As communication is mutual, culture teaching must take account of both the culture of target language and that of native language.With continuous reform and innovation, college English teaching has developed considerably. However, in college English teaching, the phenomenon of "Chinese Culture Aphasia" is universal still need to be solved. This thesis investigates the present situation of Chinese culture infiltration in college English teaching, analyzes the causes and consequences of the Chinese culture aphasia, expounds the necessity of Chinese culture infiltration in college English teaching, and puts forward effective suggestions for solutions. To develop a good command of English language knowledge, intercultural communicative competence, cultural background knowledge, and the ability to express the deep native culture in fluent English for college learners should be the goal of language education. The author of this thesis takes the college English teachers and students as the respondents and investigates through questionnaires and interview. Our survey found that the situation of Chinese culture infiltration in college English classroom teaching is worrying. Chinese culture aphasia is serious and universal. College students’ ability to express mother tongue culture in English is insufficient, the majority of students are not good at expressing relevant content of Chinese culture in English; and the native culture accomplishment of college students needs to be improved. The input of Chinese culture needs to be strengthened. The introduction of culture will help college students easier to grasp the language and culture of English countries, also enhance the students’understanding of Chinese culture and cultivate their sensitivity and tolerances to cultural differences so as to lay down a good foundation for the future development of intercultural communicative competence.Finally, several suggestions are put forward for realizing Chinese culture infiltration in college English teaching:first, strengthening the awareness of mutual cultural communication; second, compiling Chinese culture in college English textbooks; third, adding content of Chinese culture in the examination appropriately; fourth, applying native culture teaching in various methods; fifth, developing students’sensitivity and learning awareness of Chinese culture.
