Research On Contingency In Ceramic Art

Chinese ceramic art is an integral part of the world’s art treasures and has been written into the annals of history. When we review the history of ceramic with the footsteps of our ancestors, we are all surprised by the brilliant achievements and splendid civilization created by our ancestors, meanwhile, we feel worried about the recession of Modern ceramic art. With the start of the development of Modern ceramic art in our country, great changes have taken place in China’s ceramic aesthetic. At the moment, the emergence of the form of “contingency” attract more and more people who want to return to nature, the “contingency” in the pottery was promoted to a higher level, the important role of the “contingency” is more and more obvious.This paper mainly focuses on researching the production of “contingency” in the pottery, and the “contingency” in the modern ceramic art as an important part of this article, the whole chapter is divided into four parts. Firstly, this paper explains the meaning of contingency and the “contingency” in Ceramic art, and also expounds the unique insights of Ceramic art has more “chance” by comparing with many academic fields. Secondly, due to there is little literature about "contingency" in Ceramic art, then, author carding some typical examples about the "contingency" in Ceramic art by reading the history of Chinese ceramics and literature. For example, its glaze color and texture shows a kind of complicated beauty in Twisted placenta, Elder brother kiln, Jun kiln. The "contingency" in Ceramic art is not deliberately made by our ancestor, it not only enriches the aesthetic of Traditional ceramic art but also promotes the evolution of Traditional ceramic art. When the "contingency" caters to some traditional culture, it reflects the culture and spirit of the era, and become the carrier of traditional culture. Thirdly, this paper mainly discusses the artistic beauty of Modern ceramic art, simply summarizes the appearance and development of "contingency" in the modern ceramic art, and then explores the accidental beauty from three aspects: the shape, decoration, fire. In order to show the accidental beauty of ceramic art creation, this paper analyzes some representative works, such as Zibo raindrop glaze, Lv pinchang’s works and Chen zuodao’s works. Finally, the paper discusses the relationship between contingency and necessity from the perspective of philosophy, summarizes about the significance of "contingency" in Ceramic art and the approach of capture the "contingency" in Ceramic art in my own opinion, and also invokes potters to pay more attention to the “contingency” in Modern ceramic art. In our creation road, we must persist on practice and summary, explore the most appropriate and most impact “contingency” forms, to reveal the unique charm of Ceramic art.
