| The following thesis is a comparison of the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre and the Huainanzi. It compares their notions of divinity, human nature, the void, alienation, action, freedom, responsibility, and concludes with a discussion between the two philosophies on how to find contentment. It becomes clear that the one world view is lacking without the other. The most beneficial and happy path lies somewhere between the two. Where exactly this path lies will depend on the circumstances presented by a particular situation. |
