The Confucius and Yan Hui’s Happiness is an important representative topic of Confucianism. There have been many different interpretations since ancient times about it. But for this paper, I will do further exploration for the particularity of Confucian moral happiness though the Sheng-sheng Principle. In this paper, we select Cheng Hao as the representative and extend it to the whole Confucianism. Based on Cheng Hao’s theory of the Confucius and Yan Hui’s Happiness, we think that, the Confucianism’s special understanding of moral happiness is based on its special understanding about the Sheng-sheng Principle. From the Sheng-sheng Principle to the Confucius and Yan Hui’s Happiness, this paper tries to analyze that why the Confucius and Yan Hui’s Happiness exists based on the moral demand from the human nature. And then, we will analyze the performance of the Confucius and Yan Hui’s Happiness not only from the standpoint of the satisfaction for moral demand, but also from the standpoint of analyzing the theory of Regarding All in the Universe as an Organic Part of My Life based on Mu Zongsan’s moral ontology. And finally, we culminate at the specificity of the Confucian moral happiness. |
