There’s a kind of art which expresses the painter’s subjective "thoughts" having great influences in modern society now. It is well welcomed by all art creators, consumers and distributors. However, it generally seems to be so abstract, obscure and even weird that ordinary people can’t have a very clear idea for it which is so different from the objective art. So, in this paper, the main question is what the modern subjective art’s value is? Why can it appear and survive well when the objective art has such a clear view?In fact, in modern society, the phenomenon that the thing with no clear material constitution still have a high value judgement seems very common in the whole society not only in painting art, which make us real ize that, it has a great meaning to explore the answers for such a question because it’s not only for the changes in the field of art, but about an exploration for the cultural phenomenon, economic phenomenon and even social phenomenon. So this is a question which deserves all social science subjects give their unique research perspectives and theoretical explanations. Therefore, in this paper, we want to use the sociological thinking to explore the value of these intangible things.Based on the classical sociology view of study, we need to consider all social dynamic contexts. So we select Alexander’s theory of ’cultural diamond’as the theoretical analysis basis, with attention to all art participants who build the dynamic network which has the integrated power on art. We focus on three categories of participants art creators, consumers and distributors of such places like SongZhuang Beijing to find their actions and the reasons of their pursuit of the subjective art and finally we can know all the sources of subjective art’s social value. After the semi-structured interview of qualitative research, we can give this answer of our question that the value of subjective art is promoted by all three social categories of art participants-creators, consumers, and distributor. The art creators promote the art productions consciously and actively, in the pursuit of their highest art ambition of being a’real artist’ Subjective art provides them the value of ideal and aim.The rich people in the art consumers pursue the subjective art to use its symbol value to prove their status for distinction. So they will pay a lot to buy these subjective art works. They are the dominant consumer power, which promote the consumption of the subjective art.The art distributors are divided into two categories- indirect and direct distribution. Indirect distributors need to protect their own power of aesthetic, so they support subjective art works. Direct distributors can have great interests when they successfully make a subjective art work a meaningful symbol. So the distributors as a distribution system promote the spread of subjective art for the power and interests value on it.As a result, the three types of art participants, as a whole social structure closely related to the construction of art, their integrated power promoted the social value of the subjective art in pursuit of their own value on subjective art----the ideal.value of creators, identity symbol value of consumers as well as the right and interests value of distributors. All these values make the subjective art a hot trend and make it successfully obtain the good reflects in the whole society.
