Amelie Nothomb, the famous contemporary French writer who was born in Belgium, is one of the most popular best-selling author in French literary currently. Her works deviate from traditional expression deliberately, fragment the narrative of events, blurring the time-line, emphasizing the sense of coexist in space, and contribute to the "fragmented" writing. From the point of narrative mode and narrating behaviors logic, the narrative structure of time still, repeat and space juxtaposition in novels are in violation of narrative coherence and fluidity characteristics. The Characterization in the novels, especially "the obesity", and direct dialogue between the characters lead to "fracture" expression、discrete thematic significance and diversified understanding. By means of analyzing Nothomb’s narrative strategy, the readers are capable to understand the "fragmented" form which is a way to comprehend the aesthetics of the fragmented writing. The "fragments" that constitute a novel do not just represent an unconscious writing. As a great ideographic writing strategy, "fragments" give a novel diverse, complex aesthetic tension, and also become the channel of penetrating the overall meaning. In Nothomb’s novels, a lot of repetition, "intertextuality", collection of symbols and messages emphasize the historical coexistence of information and symbols. She emphasized the existence of difference between duplicate in information juxtaposition, and highlighting the difference between self and other in intertextuality. Coexistent fragments represent the way of penetrating novels’ overall saying and the novels embody multidimensional perspective of "fragmented" writing on entirety.Stretching from the fiction to reality, "fragmentation" in novels is the expression and also the aesthetic paradigm. They reflect the "fragmented" state of all levels, such as individual, self and other, and mental structure of contemporary society. In novels, Nothomb often linked "love" and "death" closely. Love ended the independent will of self, is a certain degree of "death" for individual consciousness. In the theme of "love" and "death", her writing sublimate the concept of "fragmentation" to the level of individual life forms and life experience. The isostructuralism between "love" and "death" constitute to the aesthetic paradox that self-development is not only fragmented but also complete eventually.Through the writing direction that from "mess" to "entirety", Fragments’ refraction and summons to entirety constitute literature echoes of aesthetic tension in Nothomb’s novel,Nothomb’s "fragmented" writing open the space which is created by multielement literary meaning. From Nothomb’s novel to the current state of real social life of individuals, fragmentation exists in every aspect of life. Philosophy of life included in "fragmentation" reminds us face the reality and examine contemporary life.
