The Study Of Wu Cheng’s Chun-qiu Zuan Yan

Wu Cheng is one of the most influential scholars in Yuan Dynasty. His Philosophical achievement has a very important position in the history of Chinese philosophy. His academic position that between Zhu and Lu has also been talked about for academics. Therefore, the studies on Wu Cheng mainly focused on aspects of philosophy. The study of “Wu Jing Zuan Yan” is not a hot topic of research.In this paper, " Chun-qiu Zuan Yan " is the object of study, it could be divided into four parts. Introduction: talking about the meaning and purpose of selecting the subject, the review of previous researches. Talking about the life of Wu Cheng and his disciple of Chun-qiu.Chapter I: Introducing the edition of " Chun-qiu Zuan Yan ", analysing the style characteristics of “Zuan Yan”and “Zong Li”. Yuan Dynasty printed edition is a good edition existing today, and the “Zhong Hua Zai Zao Shan Ben” is based on this copy. " Chun-qiu Zuan Yan " is a variorum book. Wu Cheng has Gathered other sayings, and put forward his own views. Before the main body, there are seven texts called“Zong Li”. Wu Cheng sometimes like to change the text of the lection, such as using spaces instead of “Que Wen”, separating lines and so on.Chapter II: talking about Wu Cheng’s Groundbreaking theory on “the concept of Bi Xue” and “Praise or criticize with a single word”, analysing the practice application in the " Chun-qiu Zuan Yan ". Wu Cheng believes that Confucius had only reduced texts, but had not added any word. “Impoliteness” is not the only reason that Confucius record something in “Chun-qiu”. On the one hand,he Inherited Lu Cun’s saying, opposed the view that linking the time with “praise or criticize”. On the other hand,he combined the appellation of people with “Ming Shu”, exclude the view of praise or criticize with a single word.Chapter III: Combined with the special background of the Yuan Dynasty,analyzing Wu Cheng’s attitude about “Hua Yi Zhi Bian”, discussing the “scale " of“Hua Yi” problems of the scholars in Yuan Dynasty. Wu Cheng had recognized the governing of Mongolian.His attitude to “Hua Yi Zhi Bian”is Indifference.We can not find some Intense negative words to “yi Di” in " Chun-qiu Zuan Yan ".However, this kind of style can not represent all the books of " Chun-qiu” in Yuan Dynasty. Becauseof the open and free cultural policy, on the one hand, scholars would not regard “Hua Yi Zhi Bian” as motivation or purpose; On the other hand, they also not need to regard it as taboo. For “Hua Yi Zhi Bian”,different authors in Yuan Dynasty have different “Scale” in their books of “Chun-qiu”.
