Unimaginable Others:a Research On Feminism Intervention In The Histories Of Art

This paper mainly tries to show the distinctive of the development feminism theory through Linda Nochlin’s Women, Art and Power and Other Essays and Griselda Pollock’s Vision and Difference:Feminism,femininity and the histories of art, Psychoanalysis and image and other relevant works, on the basis of which can outline the main ideas of feminist art history, explained the difference of the methods between Linda Nochlin and Griselda Pollock.As the main representative in the second generation of feminist theory ofart history studies, Griselda Pollock use the Marxism, structuralism, deconstruction and psychoanalytic theory tools broke the discipline boundaries. She makes feminist art history on the open field of vision to the category of art and cultural history. It proposed that women works of art and female artists a new perspective and challenge the phallocentric Eurocentric art and cultural history mode. That is why this paper chose to study of the feminist theory.
