With the development of society, more and more people pay attention to individual’s mental health. However people often ignore the mental health of counselors. In the 1990 s, Figley have proposed that compassion fatigue(CF) is the special mental health of helpers. Nearly 20 years foreign researchers have a lot of research in this area,but few studies of CF in China. In this context, this study is a counselor compassion fatigue empirical research, in order to make the social and researchers focus on the physical and mental health counselors, and put forward effective suggestions on the basis of the study.The method of questionnaire survey is adopted in this study by C-CF-Short Scale, job involvement questionnaire(JIQ),ERS for the 218 counselors. The study aims to explore the relationship of compassion fatigue, job involvement and ego-resiliency. The detail results are following:(1) Chinese counselors exist empathy fatigue condition, the C-CF-Short Scale,job involvement questionnaire and ERS is well applicative for Chinese counselors.(2)Compassion fatigue and its two dimensions(secondary trauma and job burnout) have a prominent difference on different gender, weekly workload of cases, whether to accept the supervision. Secondary trauma have a prominent difference on different level of profession. Job burnout have a prominent difference on full-time and part time.(3)Job involvement and ego-resiliency are significant negatively correlated with CF, job involvement are significant positive correlated with ego-resiliency.(4)Ego-resiliency has a complete intermediary effect on the relation between job involvement and CF.On the basis of quantity research, this study interviewed 8 Psychologieal counselors using case study. The results of the study make us have a deeper understanding of the reasons for CF. It supports the findings of the survey. On the results of quantity and quality researches, this study proposed some intervention measures to prevented the counselors’ compassion fatigue.
