The Relationship Between Disease Image And Decadent Style In Yu Dafu’ Novels

The decadent style is mainly reflected in the flood description of the "love" theme and negetive death in Yu Dafu’ novels,and these two aspects are closely related to the image of "disease".The frequent writing on "disease" image has contribute to the decadent style to a great degree,even it’s a symptom of decadence originally for Yu Dafu’ persisting in writing disease.Although Yu Dafu claimed that "literature is the writer’s autobiography",the author is not equal to his hero,and the hero’ decadence is not equal to the writer’ decadence.A writer who is crazy about describing decadence even can be one who is the most positive.He held a reflective attitude on decadence and his writing maybe just want to overcome the decadent tendency.My paper attempts to seperate from the various significance of moral or aesthetic which are attached to the decadence,to re-analyse his decadence from the angle of illness narrative and analyse the relationship between "disease" and "decadence" further.At the same time,I try to combine with the decadent point of Nietzsche for the aim of explaining the spiritual essence of decadent symptom. The paper pay more attention to overcoming the decadence whice is regarded as a disease.
