Through the review and analysis of Mr.Zhao Jiping’s film songs at different stages and taking his film songs as a platform, this paper explores his works from three aspects: seeking changes and innovation, national music style and traditional culture. By means of the combination of film pictures and music, Mr.Zhao Jiping’s style and characteristics of his music creation will be discussed preliminarily from the aspect of theory to explore his artistic characteristics which is a confluence of national style and modern aesthetics and combination of traditional methods and modern techniques, then analyze deeply and study his significant achievements on his works of film songs in each period. Especially Mr.Zhao Jiping’s five songs in his three representative movies are analyzed meticulously in this paper: the creation background and music analysis of the film Red Sorghum’s three theme songs which are Girl, Just Go Ahead, A Toast to Bacchus and Nine; the creation background and singing style of the film The Yellow Soil’s theme song Daughter’s Song; the creation background, the style of music creation and singing characteristics of the film The Qiao’s Family Compound’s theme song Distant Love blending with nationality and fashion. Based on combing Mr.Zhao Jiping’s music style and creative techniques, the paper studies deeply the application of Shanxi’s folk music to his music works, thus we can have a deeper knowledge and understanding of Mr.Zhao Jiping’s music creation and creative techniques.
