On Adaptation Of Orchestral Suite "yanhuang Style" S Piano Works And Artistic Value Of The Body

Bao Yuankai’s "Yanghuang style" is a melody played with orchestral instruments, which was created in 1991. It combines various national cultures in folk songs from the regions in Hebei, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Shanxi and other places, and it also integrate Western pipe string into the melody. This great work has been performed in more than 40 countries and regions and it enjoyed wide popularity. In order to let more people enjoy and play "Yanhuang style", it has been adapted into some adaptations of piano concerto. Amongwhich, the "Yanhuang style- Piano concerto with 24 Chinese folk theme piano concerto " and"Yanhuang style- 12 double piano concerto" are the famous two works. "The former wascreated in 2007 by Zhu Peibin who is the student of Bao Yuankai at the Xiamen University,it contains all of the 24 melody of orchestral instruments. The latter created by liangshuang in 2011 which selecting 12 melody from the original work,and was adapted into the pianoconcerto. The two adaptations are believed to have high artistic value, because they base on the original work and effectively adapted to show the performance characteristics of the piano. At the same time, they also have very high practical value, playing a positive role in the popularization of Mr Bao Yuankai’s original work. Therefore, the two adaptations play a significant role in the history of Chinese piano concerto.This thesis considers Bao Yuankai’s original work and the two adaptations as the researchsubjects and focus on the specific coding and composition analysis to make a comparative study. Furthermore, the author will make an explanation for the performance features of the piano as well as teaching value of the two adaptations from two aspects: piano performance and personal teaching experience.
