Ding Ling is a well-known writer on modern literary country. From writing modern urban women to show workers and peasants, Ding Ling ’s transformation implies the interaction between self and revolution. Her self-consciousness at different times of revolution have different performance and stable continuity. My thesis consists of five parts. The introduction section discusses the research status and the significance of Ding Ling. Body part is divided into three chapters, which discusses her novels of the May Fourth Movement, Left Alliance and the Yan’an period. Through the analysis of text and her life experiences to reshow how her writing occurs and reveal her changes and self-effort on entering yan’an. These analyzes will help us to think about selfposition in the revolution and the Chinese revolution in the 20 th century. By analysing the novel in last part, I got a conclusion that the only way to revolution is abandoned and erase the self-existence.
