The Research Of Zhangrui’s Erhu Art

A large number of outstanding erhu artists emerged during recent hundreds, especially after the foundation of new China. In these artists, Mr Zhang Rui is an outstanding one. As Chinese second generation of erhu performer, Mr Zhang started his career early and lasted long. He has his own unique ideas and numerous achievements in the fields of erhu playing, creation, performance aesthetics. As the disciple of Mr Chen Zhenduo, the heirs and disseminator of "Liu" erhu, he not only inherites the essence of the "liu" erhu, based on which, he also formed his own style and aesthetic which is full of rich individual characters, which add more brilliance for the development of Chinese erhu art. He has made a significant contribution to the erhu deucation. Almost every player at present is directly or indirectly learned erhu skills from Mr Zhang.This research focuses on Mr Zhang’s playing style and performance aesthetics, in order to introduce this artists to more erhu learners, improve our level of erhu playing and artistic accomplishment, promote the further development of erhu art in the new era.
