Study Of The Phenomena Of A Majority Of Emperors In The Former Han Dynasty Want To Depose Crown Princes But Suffering Failures

Crown system is one of the most important part in the imperialist system.the office inheritance system which has been Originated from Shang and Zhou dynasties,it can consolidate rule and offset the conflicts for the position of emperor, so the former Han dynasty has kept this system.Most of emperors in the former Han dynasty,have thoughts to depose princes,for example,emperor Gao,Jing,Wu.Xuan,but except emperor Jing a,none of them can depose princes.It is common to find that emperors in the former Han dynasty has the desire to change their princes but most of them can not achieve the goals.There is a high level for emperors personal qualities in the construction of early imperial power system. However, it can not guarantee princes of high quality which are under inheritance system,so most of emperors in the former Han dynasty think that the princes are not the appropriate heirs, the patriarchal clan and etiquette are not suitable in the former Han dynasty,which are suitable for the existence of the office inheritance system,in the construction of imperialist system,the emperors are in great power,governors and the separation of powers system and etiquette system have less influence to emperors,it is obvious to find out the shortcomings of this system.At the same time, the emperors need consorts to rule the country in the early construction of imperial power.It offers time for the consorts to become stronger,because of the early establishment of princes.For its own interests, the consorts will protect the princes,and become great blocks in the process of deposing princes,the consorts’ influence intensify the degree of phenomena of emperors has thought to depose princes but suffering failures.
