The exchanges between the envoys played an important role in the relationship between Ming Dynasty and the Chosun Dynasty. In early Chosun Dynasty, the Chosun Dynasty sent their princes,most were of high importance or even ready to inherit the throne,to the Ming Dynasty as envoys. Those princes had shouldered the interests and dignity of their motherland and had practiced special diplomatic missions. Such activities had shown their pure-heartedness towards big issues, had improved the political relation between the two dynasties and had played an important and positive role on the friendship between the two dynasties, hence a mutual trust and tributary relationship.Under the reign of the first four kings, the Chosun Dynasty sent five princes to the Ming dynasty as envoys. This paper discusses the situation of four princes as envoys.Since those envoys were of important identity and status, the accompanied officials were selected strictly. The vice envoys and clerks who were chosen were all erudite and expert, which had made the diplomatic corps magnificent, complete and unique.The mission of the princes,mainly about the big issues between the Ming dynasty,was very different from other envoys.The mission of the princes, mainly about the big issues and important foreign affairs between the Ming dynasty, was very different from other envoys. So the princes were specially treated by the Ming court and were paid great attention to during their stay.Under normal circumstances, the Ming Dynasty, it will allow their request.The Princes of Chosun Dynasty as envoys go to the Ming Dynasty played an important role on the relationship between the Ming dynasty and the Chosun Dynasty,eased and resolved political,economic and other problems between the two dynasties and built close political and mutual trust relationship. Their work was beneficial for the establishment of the stable tributary relationship with Ming dynasty.
