The course of masters of education emphasizes on training masters of education to be core teachers who have high professional quality, have strong teaching abilities and research abilities. Naturally, masters of education grow mainly through teaching practice, and classroom is the main place for them to grow. Changes in teachers’ knowledge through classroom teaching is an important part of teachers’ growing in practice. Based on social constructivist theory, this study regards masters of English education as object, take the teaching of fresh students of high school for example to explore the subtle changes that lesson study(LS) brought to masters of English education’ practical knowledge, which can benefit their teaching.The primary research questions are as follows:(1)What changes have occurred to masters of English education’s subject content knowledge? (2)What changes have occurred to masters of English education’s curriculum knowledge? (3)What changes have occurred to masters of English education’s pedagogical content knowledge? The present study mainly employs the qualitative research method. That is, four masters of English education formed a LS research group and went through three rounds of circular process of collaboratively making teaching plan, conducting and reflecting on research lesson. The research data were mainly collected from observation,interviews to masters of English education and their mentor teacher.After the study which lasted a semester, the mainly findings are as follows:LS has increased masters of English education’s practical knowledge in terms of the subject, curriculum and pedagogy. In terms of subject content knowledge, masters of English education have increased their vocabulary knowledge, background knowledge and cultural knowledge. In terms of curriculum knowledge, masters of English education have learned to use teaching material creatively. In terms of pedagogical content knowledge,they have learned how to teach reading strategy, how to preset and generate the content of courses, how to design questions,and how to set up scaffolds.
