There are large numbers of Literature Motifs and story types in the various classical Chinese novels before the Song Dynasty. Some motifs and types could be found in Indexes of the Types of China’s Folklore or relational Research monograph, paper, which studied by scholars. However, most types haven’t been collected in these indexes or discussed. Hair cut by demon, travelling in wonderlands in caves, retribution for killing of animals, the three story types can be frequently found in the classical Chinese novels before the Song Dynasty and haven’t been involved in the indexes also. A Classification Study of this research, focusing on the tree story types study, carries out research on the origins of the stories, the reasons for the emergence of the stories, the development and change of the stories and the influence in the later ages.Three aspects included in this research:the introduction, the text and the conclusion. The introduction of the paper states the reason, circumstances of research, study method, academic value and significance of the topics. The text, the first chapter discusses the story of "hair cut by demon", embodying the classification of the story, the reasons for emergence and the literary influence of the story. The second chapter is the study of the story of "wonderlands in caves" which classified into four main types according to the themes of the stories, analyzing the narrative mode and the motif of the story, exploding the belief culture that one of the background factors contribute to the causes of the novels, as well as discoursing the development and change of the story type in the later literary. The third one places emphases on the treatise of the story of "retribution for killing of animals" which divided into several kinds. The chapter illustrates the different retribution for killing of animals, the cultural basis for the cause of this story type and the development in the later ages. The conclusion part summarizes the content of the paper and the significance of research.
