The Semantic Analysis And Cultural Interpretation Of "Gao" And "Gao～"

" Gao" is contained various connotations and expressions in Chinese culture. This article, according to the 34 meanings of "Gao" from the Chinese Big Dictionary, extracts 6 meanings from them which contain close relationship of the common se-mantic [+distant].Through analysising these six relationships to explore the development evolution and interpreted the semantic relationships of "Gao" in the process of converting to abstract non-concrete. By analyzing the producing ways of rhetoric semantic meaning of "Gao" and "Gao～"to discover that it mainly use synecdoche and figure of speech. It is divided the worship of "Gao" into three types which are the bodily form of "Gao", the artistic conception of "Gao" and the moral character of "Gao" and then given a further analysis. At the end, survey on the causes of "Gao" worships from psychology, political and cultural three aspects to explore Han nationality unique cognition patterns and ways of thinking.
