Research On The Eastern Cognitive Way In The Contemporary Visual Design

With the upgrading of the visual appreciation, the visual design, as the art of visual linguistic diversity, is being paid more attention to spiritual aspirations. Therefore,integrating the eastern space concept into the contemporary visual design can not only enhance the spiritual field of the visual design works, but also set up a viewing way different from the current academic system.The space is very important from the ancient times. People’s cognitive of space is different because of the different cultural background of the east and the west. Therefore,the cognitive of space and the viewing way of contemporary visual design works are not the same. The major topic of my graduation thesis is the cognitive way of the eastern space in the contemporary visual design.Firstly, explain the concept of formation of the eastern cognitive way of the space.The concept of space has long been formed in the east, in a way influenced by the eastern philosophy, developing into the unique eastern space concept. The space concept has been fully embodied in the Chinese painting, calligraphy, architecture, sculpture and other works. And further extend to the theory of eastern space cognitive way.Secondly, study the 3 aspects of the eastern space cognitive way in the art field. 1. the eastern cognitive way of the space permeating the western art field, 2. the eastern cognitive way of the space permeating the western construction field, 3. The presentation of the eastern cognitive way of space in the graphic design last century. The 3 points can be summed up in an inner link between the eastern space cognitive and the different art form, choose different works to analyze and study the eastern space concept, summarize the application of eastern cognitive way in different art fields, set the concept of prospect space(application of the object as the symbol, implication of the false or truth, prospect outside of other prospect) in the background of contemporary visual design, establish a new viewing way through analysis of the visual cognitive way in the outer space.Finally, analyze and discuss eastern space concept and form, as well as summarizethe meaning of the re-interpretation and re-construction and the enlightenment of the visual design in the future, turning the contemporary visual design works from simple visual appreciation to the pursuit of inner spirit.
